Throughout Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, the museum's docent-led tour features Blooming Vessel by Korean-born sculptor Chunghi Choo. The artist applied a wax coating to a vase with three blooming flowers, then plated the object with silver, then finished it with a process of her own invention, "electro-appliqué." The work's graceful form gives no indication of the elaborate steps of its creation. Meet at the Information Desk. |
