Participants in this panel discussion on race and presidential politics (in Lincoln’s time and our own) include Maurice Jackson and Chandra Manning of Georgetown University, Edna Greene Medford of Howard University, and Ronald Walters, author of Black Presidential Politics in America and director of the African American Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland. The moderator is Fath Davis Ruffins, curator at the National Museum of American History. The event is part of the museum’s Abraham Lincoln Lecture Series.
