February  25 How--and Why--the Lunch Counter Came to the Museum Thursday,  February  25 , 12:15 pm National Museum of American History, Flag Hall, Second Floor Many people were involved in the Smithsonian’s acquisition and display of the Greensboro, North Carolina, lunch counter where four African American college students started a desegregation sit-in in 1960.
