February  25 All-American Music: Behind the Scenes with Porgy and Bess Thursday,  February  25 , 7 pm National Museum of American History, Carmichael Auditorium This discussion of the upcoming Washington National Opera production of Porgy and Bess takes the historical long view of Gershwin’s groundbreaking work.
