February  3 Walk-In Tour: African American Artists in the Collection Wednesday,  February  3 ,  Wednesdays, February 3, 10, 17, and 24, 12:30 pm Smithsonian American Art Museum Meet in the F Street Lobby. These special docent-led tours highlight works from the museum’s permanent collection. No single style or approach can define African American art. The artists discussed—from nineteenth-century impressionist painter Henry Ossawa Tanner to the contemporary craft artist Joyce Scott—reveal a complexity of influences, including spirituality, music, and folklore.
