In the short film Orixas, director Maria Esperanza Palau examines West African beliefs carried to Brazil by the enslaved Yoruba people. Ilé Aiyé, or House of Life, is a musically rich documentary on the African-influenced Brazilian religion Candomblé, directed by David Byrne of the Talking Heads.
