Biographer Doris Rich recounts the life of Jacqueline “Jackie” Cochran, who set more aviation records than any other American pilot. Cochran was the first woman to break the sound barrier, the first to fly a bomber across the Atlantic Ocean, and the commander of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) during World War II. But she was also a complex woman with a secretive past. shares new information that places Cochran’s achievements in the context of her turbulent personal life. A book signing follows.
