I've learned that I can take the heat. It goes back to what your mother taught you: Do your best, try your hardest.
A Modern War: As the youngest pilot in the Navy to receive his wings, Bush flew 58 combat missions during World War II. He was once shot down over the Pacific and was rescued by a U.S. submarine. While president, Bush faced tremendous international challenges, including maintaining relations with the former Soviet Union. Bush assembled and led the coalition of world powers in Operation Desert Storm, which successfully opposed Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.
