Dread History:
The African Diaspora,
Ethiopianism, and Rastafari

Bongo Timothy Hill in field marshal garb
Bull Bay, Jamaica

Ethiopian Emperor Haille Selassie was frequently photographed in field marshal attire. In part, this reflects the fact that his stature as an African leader rested on his successful campaign against Mussolini's fascist Italian troops. Pictured here is an Elder in field marshal regalia representative of the attire worn by Selassie.
